Safeguarding children and young people
The safety of children and young people is a priority for the Accompanying Project and the charity Bath YFC. We work with primary schools and within their safeguarding policies to make sure our work is delivered to the standards of best practice.
The Accompanying Project has been approved by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation.
Our staff are Advanced Safeguarding Trained and volunteers receive appropriate safeguarding training, a copy of our safeguarding policy and ongoing professional development in this area as part of the Bath YFC Safeguarding policy. If you have any concerns regarding safeguarding related to the Accompanying Project please contact our the project leader and safeguarding officer, James Vaughton (01225 336055).
Where the Accompanying Project is delivered by a local partner who is a separate organisation the named organisation are responsible for the safeguarding related to their own volunteer or staff delivery and the children they are working with in the Accompanying Project. We will enable local partners to deliver the Accompanying Project within good safeguarding practice through training and ongoing support.
